Joining MECC has already been one of the best decisions I’ve made at the University of Michigan. As a first-semester freshman, it gave me an immediate sense of community and introduced me to a group of driven, supportive friends. Through MECC, I’ve been exposed to new opportunities, learned from experienced members, and begun developing real-world problem-solving and professional skills. Being part of such a collaborative and motivated environment has opened my eyes to what’s possible, and I’m excited to continue growing through the organization.

I attribute much of my collegiate and professional success to my time in MECC. Being the first organization I joined on campus, every project has been fulfilling and skill-enhancing, every member is brilliant yet a breath of fresh air, and this organization will be the most supportive in your journey to discover what it is that interests you.

The club has a strong sense of community, supported by a diverse set of mentors from both industries, facilitating an environment where you are constantly exposed to new ideas, opportunities, and people. I’ve been able to gain real exposure to technical and business problem-solving and working within niche industries which has been especially valuable as a dual major in computer engineering and business. I’ve already seen how transferable and relevant these skills will be regardless of what career path I take and I’m excited to see what’s to come as I continue growing and learning throughout college with the support of the MECC community behind me.

MECC has been one of the most impactful parts of my college experience. As a chemistry student, I’ve especially valued the opportunity to develop skills and perspectives that are rarely taught in the classroom but are essential in real-world, professional settings. Working on project teams has been both challenging and genuinely fun. The diversity of experiences, backgrounds, and viewpoints within each team creates an environment where everyone is constantly learning from one another. Through my time in MECC, I’ve learned how to think more strategically, communicate more effectively, and approach complex problems from new angles. Beyond the professional growth, MECC has also been a place to build lifelong friendships and a strong sense of community, making it one of the best parts of my college experience.

Joining MECC was one of the best decisions I have made to help me grow professionally. Coming in with an engineering background, MECC offered me a space to grow my business knowledge and understanding while using my more technical background to work on projects with real impact. The learning that I have been able to experience, on top of the community that MECC fosters, has been integral to getting the best Michigan experience possible.

I am really grateful to be a member of MECC Consulting Group. As an LSA student, I especially appreciate the opportunity to develop and sharpen my technical consulting skills through our training series, from project managers and with consultants. Through my experience in MECC, I have gained a better understanding of what kind of work I would like to do after college. Beyond that, MECC is an incredible community to join if you want to laugh, grow and create lifelong friendships.
