Frequently Asked Questions
What majors do you accept?
We accept students from all majors. Our members are in LSA, Ross, Public Health, Engineering, and more!
What kind of clients does MECC work with, and how are projects sourced?
MECC works with clients in a wide range of industries, from Fortune 500 companies to local nonprofits. Our project managers source and scope their own projects, and members therefore have a large breadth of projects to choose from every semester. Members have the opportunity to work with several different industries throughout their time in MECC. Check out the Projects tab for more details.
When is the MECC recruitment process?
The recruiting process happens at the beginning of fall and winter semesters. You can stay in touch with us by liking our Facebook page, following us on Instagram, or checking in our website for updates on the times and dates of events.
Is there a GPA or grade requirement?
No. We accept freshmen, sophomores, and juniors during some recruiting cycles. Our new class changes every cycle, depending on the applicant pool.
Do I need prior experience with casing or consulting to apply to MECC?
No! Interviewees will be provided with resources and are welcome to attend our Case Workshop event to practice case interviews and ask questions of current MECC members, and there is no requirement for prior experience.
How many rounds of interviews are there?
There are two rounds after the application: the first round consists of a group interview and an individual interview, and the second round consists of one individual interview. Both individual interviews will have a behavioral portion and a case portion.
Which events should I attend?
We recommend attending as many events as you are able to. It’s a great way for you to get to know MECC members and MECC as an organization, and we’d love to get to know you as well! The mass meeting is a greating starting point to learn more about the club and what we have to offer.
